The Z was Zapped: A Play in Twenty-Six Acts by Chris Van Allsburg is a fantastic children’s alphabet book with a twist. Each letter of the alphabet is involved in an act for a theatrical play. Each act strongly reinforces the letter of the alphabet and words that are associated with it.
Allsburg’s black-and-white illustrations are mesmerizing. I found myself going back through the book once finished reading just so I could appreciate the pictures.
Great book for young and old. I am on a Chris Van Allsburg kick right now so I’ve been at the library checking out all his works.
